Hi Everyone,

Just tried inserting a 1G SFP into one of the 4 10Gb ports on one of our ASR920's, and got the following error:

Jun 21 2016 14:30:13.036 GMTWA: %TRANSCEIVER-6-INSERTED: SIP0: iomd: transceiver module inserted in TenGigabitEthernet0/0/25
Jun 21 2016 14:30:18.076 GMTWA: %TRANSCEIVER-3-NOT_COMPATIBLE: SIP0: iomd: Detected for transceiver module in TenGigabitEthernet0/0/25, module disabled

Quick Google, found this page:

"Dual rate ports are not supported on Cisco ASR 920 Series Router (ASR-920-24SZ-IM, ASR-920-24SZ-M, ASR-920-24TZ-M)."

...So on the 24 port version of the ASR920, the 10Gb ports cannot be used as 1Gb it seems....smaller port models they can be? Id love to know why lol.....damnit...box is 4000 kilometres away...remote hands 4 hours away...looks like ill have to wait until tomorrow and get them to swap the 1G SFP to one of the 1Gb SFP ports....
