Hello,

I'm curently trying to get DHCP Relay working on a Cisco 891 which is acting as a CE router handling multiple customer IP VPNs. The relevant LAN-side configuration, for a single VRF, is as follows :

service dhcp

interface FastEthernet0

description *** customer switch ***

switchport mode trunk

no ip address

interface Vlan10

description *** customer VLAN ***

vrf forwarding <Customer_VRF>

ip address <Customer_Net_GW_IP> 255.255.255.0

ip helper-address <Remote_Customer_DHCP_Server IP>

It appears, from a packet capture, that the DHCP DISCOVER message is being forwarded to the remote DHCP server and the router is seeing the DHCP OFFER message being returned. The problem is that this isn't being forwarded out to the client. A 'debug ip dhcp server packet' shows the following message :

DHCPD: forwarding BOOTREPLY to client 0026.0bfd.82b2.

DHCPD: cannot forward BOOTREPLY; no outbound interface.

The router is running IOS 15.1(4)M4 advipservices.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,

Chris
