Guys,
Lets stay calm.
Maybe both are correct: in theory, a soft switch component don't have the
function of proxy media, but the companies that are selling soft switches,
add more components to their software including the media proxy
functionality. And they are calling this software suite as one piece: soft
switch.

Take a look at MERA MVTS Softswitch and PSS Alter softswitch.
It is a shame for a CCIE to claim such things.
It seems the Cisco certificates have no more value at all :)
