[cisco-voip] IP phone can not register to CCM

Arunas,

from what I know about CCM4 you probably don't find the file in the TFTP
directory because all the files are cached at startup in order to allow
faster processing. If you want to make sure if the file exists you can
disable the caching under Service>Service Configuration>Cisco TFTP and by
pressing the "Advanced" button. Somewhere at the bottom you'll find enable
caching or something like it and it is set to True. Reverse it to False
and you should see the files after restart of the TFTP service.

But from what you tell ti seems that the file really isn't there. I had
some trouble with 7970 as well and what helped in my case (I don't
remember what version I was working with) was getting the newest load for
the 7970 and loading it into CCM. This might be a solution. Another thing
you could try is to manually configure the 7970 to see if it registers
correctly. But you probably want to attach more than just one phone when
you use auto-config.

I've doublechecked tftp configuration, it is OK.
>From TFTP trace I see that phone requesting SEPmacaddress.cnf.xml but this
file doesn't exist. I've decided to make phone go through registration
process again from the beginning. But SEPdefault.cnf file is missing in
TFTP root directory.
Any suggestions would be very appreciated

Thanks.

Make sure the tftp server the phone is getting from DHCP actually has
the tftp service running. If this is correct, try bouncing the tftp
service.

If you turn on tftp traces you should be able to see the phone request
the sepdefault.cnf file first, then the sep<macaddr>.cnf.xml file
afterwards.
