Dave Lang at Aptigen has productized this. I'm not certain if it uses
corporate directory or another data source.

/Wes

Subject: [cisco-voip] caller's name on display

Hi,

could anyone offer me a CallManager's feature or additional software
that would allow me to see a caller's name on my IP phone's display
according to some my _personal_ address book? Like in a mobile phone.
We have CM4.0(1)sr2a.

Corporate directory of course is not the option.

Thanks
Andrius

Wes,
We have written screen pop applications that integrate with Aptigen XML
to execute exactly as you describe. Since this is such a popular
request, we are offering this as a standard offering. I will phone you
later to discuss.

Thank you for your inquiry and interest in Aptigen

Subject: CLID dblookup?

Greetings,

I am a Cisco TAC engineer and have received several requests for a JTAPI
based application that your company may have already implemented. If
so, I
would like to point some of my customers your way. Do you have this
application already packaged for resale?

They need an app that monitors the lines on ipphones for new incoming
calls.
When a new call is received, use the calling line id (CLID) to do a
database
(either LDAP or SQL) lookup to get more information about the calling
party.
Present this additional information to the ipphone user.

Basics: do a database dip to lookup CLID and find configurable CNAME

Overview:
Allow calls to be presented DID to an ipphone, not routed through a CTI
Route Point.
>From a JTAPI app, add an observer to receive Call events.
When a new call arrives to the ipphone, lookup the CLID in a database
and
send the db data to the ipphone LCD via the CiscoTerminal sendData
method.

Why this design?
-cti app is bolt-on, not inserted as critical in call processing, so CTI
outage does not affect call processing.
