[cisco-voip] poe tester

Depends on when you bought your switch.  Before PoE was standardized it
was Cisco's implementation.  But since the standard was ratified Cisco
has changed.

will any poe device work off of a cisco inline power switch? I thought
cisco had done poe they're own way. Sended power over data pairs, not
sended power over unused pairs.

I'd buy a cheap POE device off Ebay (broken camera might work, as long
as it had an LED that would still light if POE was present)

As far as someone mentioned for voltage drop testing, I'd think that if
the cable was bad enough to drop a fairly high current 48vDC - I would
think that the cable _really_ sucked for carrying Ethernet signals which
are much lower voltages and currents, and more suceptible to
interference (ever had your maintenance guys run your new drop over a
tube light ballast? ;-)
