National is preferred. Fewer quirks, more standard. Make sure you are
using MGCP gateways and CM will decode the calling party name from the
facility IE.

Subject: [cisco-voip] ISDN PRI Protocol Selection
Hi
When ordering a voice PRI for basic PSTN access, I'm usually asked choose
either national or custom as the protocol. In a CCM 4 environment, are
there reasons to choose one over the other? I know that they support
calling name id differently but I don't know if one method is better than
the other.
thanks
Kris Seraphine
