Does the PSTN caller ever hear the static or is it only the IP phone?

If it's only on the IP phone try getting a sniffer capture to see if the
static is in the RTP stream or not. That will at least tell you if it's
a phone issue or gateway issue.

Is it every outbound call that has static or only some? Perhaps only
some B-channels are having a problem?

What code are you running on CM and what firmware on the phones.

I'm running CM 4.1.3 and P00307010200 on my 7940/60's.? I have started
to hear little amounts of static also (but I don't think I can reproduce
it).? I'm wondering if it's the phone load.

When I make outbound local/long distance call's out the PRI I receive a?

I'm noticing .5 second blips of static even on ring back.

My CCNA is going to expire soon and I'm looking at taking the IPT test
to start the CCVP certification process.

The section about securing IPT is the part I'm lacking a little.

Can someone tell me what they are going to ask about configuring SSL.
Part of installing CM 4.1 installs the SSL for you. What I'm I going to
configure for the test? I know how to do this in a server environment
but what are they going to ask about in regards to CM?

What do I need IPSEC for on CM? I thought this was VPN related stuff?

Thanks

Scott

I'm working on setting up my first CME system and am trying to use a
general mailbox. I have it create and have a couple of users subscribed
to it, but I'm not seeing anywhere that they would be notified when a
message is delivered to that mailbox. It doesn't light the subscribers
MWI, so I'm not sure how they are supposed to know that there is a
message there. Is there a way to see this?

Thanks,
Adam

OK?

I?m studying for the Cisco IPT test and I have just setup Malicious call
tracing And I?m trying to see what good this is. If the caller blocks
caller ID, what good is this? And for that matter, why doesn?t the user
just write down the number or go back and get it from your directories ?
received calls?

Thanks

I've used a Gatekeeper for H323 video conferencing. So I have a little
experience with them. But when it comes to CM, the only time I would
need one is to connect two CM clusters, right?

I thought you could also use a GK to load balance gateways in an
org...(At least that/'s what I used it for...had multiple PRI's in
different routers and then the GK routed to the least busy...

yup.

and GK not req'd for connecting 2 CM clusters, only optional.

good to use when connecting 10 CM clusters, let GK manage the prefix
numbers
and figure out where everything goes. CAC is an added benefit if you
need
it.
