The mapped drive is only required if the IPCC server is not a domain
member. In fact, in our installation we use the UNC path when install
the ACD Client (\\servername\share\etc...) and do not have mapped drives
for our agents. We do have the IPCC server as a domain member so
permissions are granted using an Active Directory group. Not sure if
this is 100% supported or the best way, but it alleviated my issue with
the mapped drive.
