[cisco-voip] IOS MGCP question

  You are correct the VG248 is not IOS based.  It is completely menu driven unfortionatly.  However it does talk Skinny back to call manager so the ports all come up and look like phones.  Very little configuration on the box itself.

  I think you are better off with the VG224's.  They are IOS based and are
  basically like configuring a router.  Unless the 248's have changed (I
  haven't looked) they are not IOS based and I remember they were a little
  more troublesome.  Maybe someone else out there can confirm this and you
  will feel better about going this route.

  for a few dormitories at a regional campus, hopefully they will work
  out OK. I would have rather gone with some 248's and had fewer boxes
