Did you restart the TFTP server after creating the directories and
adding the list.xml file?   I did this on my 7970's and it wouldn't work
until I had restarted the TFTP.....


The only problems I had were that some images it didn't like....I'd
create an image, upload the image and the thumbnail...edit the conf file
and then the thumbnail would show up in the selection lists..and I could
choose the image as the background, but it would'nt show the image...it
would claim it was but all I'd see was the blue background of the
phone..

        I've tried to setup some alternative background images for the
Cisco 7970 phones with no luck.  I followed the instructions in the
Cisco IP Phone 7970 Admin Guide

I placed the the full size and thunbnail files in following directory
C:\Program Files\Cisco\TFTPPath\Desktops and I also created the
following list.xml file

However, when i go to user settings ==> background images, I get a
