I'm new to the list, so hopefully somebody will have a better answer. We
use MAC addresses to limit connections of external phones.

We run our phones using SCCP and phones that connect external to our
private network have to come in via a Voice Proxy Firewall. We limit
connections through the VPFw by MAC address. If the MAC address isn't in
our database, the connection doesn't get passed through.
