[cisco-voip] Manipulating CLID on AS5350

We have an AS5350 we're using as a SIP-to-PRI media gateway. One of
our VoIP peers is sending us calling-number-ID on SIP as E.164 . For
example, the SIP message contains:
From:"SMITH BOB"<sip:+18055550123 at 111.222.33.44;user=phone>
This results in the full E.164 string being sent out the PRI, which
results in errors when someone on an analog line attempts to redial
the caller.
Is there a way to strip the leading "+1" from the CLID before passing
it on to the POTS leg so that the called party would see a regular
8055550123 type of presentation?
I'm familiar with the calling-info sip-to-pstn commands in the sip-ua
configuration where I can force a specific name or number to be displayed
but what I really want is to deploy a translation-rule type of treatment
to the received CLID and I haven't been successful in doing so.
