[cisco-voip] CIPTUG bound?

Tech Guy,

I agree that the CIPTUG website needs some work. Are you going to the
conference? I went for the first time last year and it was great. It's
a great opportunity to meet people with many of the same issues and
goals. I don't think you would be disappointed in it.....

I think the organization is going to be working hard at making it worth
your money to join. Quite honestly, from what I've seen, heard and
experienced, Cisco is using the feature enhancement tool (available only
as a CIPTUG member) one of the primary means of collecting information
from users to incorporate in future versions of the software. That, in
and of itself, I think is worth the price of admission.

They've recently signed on with a new management company and are going
to be looking at additional benefits but are looking for input from the
membership. I've already suggested training discounts with a more global
training company like GlobalKnowledge. Let them know of any ideas you
might have. Or better yet, bring them to the conference...I'm sure there
will be a session about membership if we ask for it. Or at least an
informal BOF session at lunch or something like that.

Personally I am very disappointed in CIPTUG. I just signed up
last week, and find the site and discussion forums outdated and slow.
Totally not worth the $300 in my opinion. I find this mailing list is
a better resource of information and its free. :-)

Wish I could get my darn money back from CIPTUG at this point.
