Lelio, well said.
CIPTUG is working to increase our member benefits in
as many ways as possible. The Annual Users conference
and the Feature Advocacy Committee are two of the
biggest benefits of CIPTUG Membership. Additional
benefits include monthly webinars, training and book
disounts, and exclusive offers from CIPTUG approved
vendors. We do have web forums, but do to some
technical issues, there are not used as often as say
this list or other similar dicussion forums.
Over the last year we have been working very hard to
improve the CIPTUG website. The main focus has been
rebuilding the backend databases, improving the user
experience with the webiste and improving the FAC
submission and voting processes. We have made great
progress but we are not done yet. We plan to revamp
the discussion forums as well, but the back end pieces
had to be completed first.
The best way to see additional benefits from CIPTUG
membership is to let us know what benefits you would
like to see. There will be several networking
opportunities at the CIPTUG Conference. During the
exhibit hall hours, there will be a CIPTUG table
staffed by CIPTUG Board members and committee
chairpersons where you can ask questions and give
feedback on the benefits of CIPTUG, specific
committees and learn how to get more involved in
growing the organization. During the conference, on
Tuesday afternoon, there will be a presentation by
Mark Melvin the CIPTUG FAC Committee chairperson and
on Wednesday afternoon there will be a presentation by
Al Losada, CIPTUG Memebership Director on Local CIPTUG
chapters. Both of these presentations are a great way
to see how CIPTUG is increasing member benefit and a
great way to give feedback on how we are doing and
what additional benefits we can add. Finally, the
CIPTUG Annual Meeting will be conduted during Lunch on
Wednesday, where the Board of Directors will review
what they have accomplished during 2005 and what is
planned for 2006.
I've probabally taken up too much bandwidth on the
list already. If you would like to discuss CIPTUG
further, please feel free to email me directly
timmedley at ciptug.org Any questions or feedback
directly related to CIPTUG membership or benefits can
also be directed to membership at ciptug.org
I hope to see you at the CIPTUG Conference!
Thank you,
Tim
