[cisco-voip] RTCP reports

Hi Cumhur,

thanks for your reply.

NM-NAM does`t support the H.323 protocol. Our gateways use it for call
signaling (H.323 dial-peers). So, NM-NAM is not an option.

PS: Note The timer receive-rtcp command configures a media activity
timer that is common to both H.323 and SIP. If set, it affects both H.323
and SIP calls.
How are calls affected?

- Are there any Cisco Works products that can receive the RTCP messages and
create graphical reports? If not, then which vendor`s RTCP server would you
recommend?
- Is RTCP sent from every Cisco DSP board (NM-HDV, PVDM, AIM) module for
each tdm-to-voip call?

Thanks.

Greg

Dear Greg,

via this command you can modify interval.

ip rtcp report interval ...

Please review this document

Scenario 4: VoIP and QoS Monitoring

wp9000296
The Cisco NAM for Branch Routers is able to recognize IP telephony sessions
in the network by decoding VoIP protocols such as SCCP. With VoIP data
collection turned on, quality of calls can be extracted by decoding the VoIP
control packets. Analysis is available to provide granular details about
each phone session and system. Furthermore, in conjunction with using
DiffServ (QoS), an administrator can verify the QoS classes associated with
the VoIP traffic. In this scenario, some important questions that can be
answered include:
wp9000297* What is the average jitter rate and packet loss for the phones
that are monitored?

wp9000298* What is the worst call quality experienced?

wp9000299* What are the call-session types (SCCP or H.323)?

wp9000300* What Cisco Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) ports are being
used in these calls?

Regards,

Cumhur

Hi,

I could`t find any information about RTCP reports on IOS gateways apart from
the command that sets the reporting interval.

Does anyone know how to:

- enable/disable RTCP on an IOS H.323 GW?
- Are there any Cisco Works products that can receive the RTCP messages and
create graphical reports? If not, then which vendor`s RTCP server would you
recommend?

- Is RTCP sent from every Cisco DSP board (NM-HDV, PVDM, AIM) module for
each tdm-to-voip call?

Thanks.

Greg
