[cisco-voip] CCM Services Redundancy

Re: [cisco-voip] CRS and IPCC express licensing rejectedAh - I see. There are several schools of thought there. By using IP address you eliminate the need and dependancy for DNS, however, if that server that you are pointing to goes down, then so does your service. By using DNS, you should be able to keep all those services up and running. I'm not sure about the DNS caching on a phone, so if a phone has already used a service and it goes to use the service again, will it re-request the DNS entry again or use what it has in cache? If so, does it time out? And if you figure this all out can you rely on it being the same in the next release of software?

I think the general concensus has been to go with IP addresses from what I've seen on the list.

  Hello,

I'm refering to the services that can be accessed through the IP phone (directory, help, etc); all the URLs that are configured in the enterprise parameters option...

  Regards,

  Ruben

Many of the services can be run on multiple subscribers to provide redundancy, however, there are some services that require access to the publisher. If the publisher goes down or the synchronization between the cluster is lost you will lose some services/features. I don't know if there is a full list, but it does include the forwarding of phones and extension mobility. Basically, any service that writes(?) to the database.

      Hello,

is it possible to make some kind of redundancy with the services activated in the CallManager?

We don't want to lose all this services when the server associated fail...

      Thanks,

      Ruben
