[cisco-voip] overhead paging

We have a closely associated group that uses the Berbee product. While in general it works, there are concerns with how it is setup. Basically, you call a number and then that number calls you back and then you speak. The dial back is causing problems whereby if they happen to miss the call and it goes to voicemail the prompt is played across all phones. Also, the IP speaker supposedly does not have trunking capabilities and therefore requires direct access to the voice network. Two issues you should consider.
I'm of the school of thought that says use a product for what it was used for. I'd say install an amp and some speakers. ;) By the time you get the RJ45 cables installed and you've paid for all the switch ports and you've got your network multicast ready, is it really worth it?

Subject: [cisco-voip] overhead paging
I know this is a discussion that occurs often, but I was hoping for some
recent opinions.
How has everyone solved the lack of a built-in paging system for CM?
Are you using separate hardware? RJ-45 ceiling speakers? software which
broadcasts audio from your cisco phones?
Thanks,
Avidan
