[cisco-voip] remote site not able to auth to domain

we have a remote site connecting by way of vpn.  we are able to ping everything on each other side but we are not able to authenticate to secure directorys and apps.  we are not sure if it a cisco thing but the only problem lies with the remote site over cisco routers with ipsec vpns
