Yes, it should work fine. Unicast me the traces and I will see why.

1) Both profiles are unique, with their own pilots.
2) I should be clear. these pilot numbers are not pointing to a 'true'
voicemail. For instance, I have set the DN to both pilots to a SCCP device
as well as to a line on a CTI Route Point on which sits an application which
will answer and stream some sample media. There is no true voicemail
behavior, i.e., mailbox lookup.. If the app gets the call, it answers and
streams media.
The simple application will answer correctly and stream media in the
scenario I described earlier (i.e., call the CTI Route Point with CFA - VM,
or the SCCP device with CFA - VM), however, if I have the SCCP device's
CFA -(no VM) to the CTI Route Point's DN on line 1, and if I set CFA - VM on
that CTI Route Point line that is dialed by the CFA to point to a final
destination. the call does not route.
Call Flow - Device Layout
Devices:
1000 at SEP11112222333 . has CFA (no VM) of 25000/Good-CSS
25000 at CTIRoute1 . CFA - VM to pilot of 50000/Good-CSS
50000 at SEPCCCCDDDDFFFF
Failure Call:
Random SCCP Device dials 1000 -> CFA Invoked on 1000 at SEP111122223333 to
25000 -> CFA-VM Invoked on 25000 at CTIRoute1 to 50000 ->
50000 at SEPCCCCDDDDFFFF never rings! Doh!
Success Call:
Random SCCP device dials 25000 -> CFA-VM Invoked on 25000 at CTIRoute1 to
50000 -> 50000 at SEPCCCCDDDDFFFF does ring! (as a side note, I can change
SEPCCCCDDDDFFFF to a second CTI Route point on which sits the streaming app
I mention, and the app answers and streams)
3) I'm not having a problem with a production system or production
voicemail, however, I am trying to do a simple proof-of-concept so that I
can do some other things. I'm surprised this hasn't worked. I don't want
to open a case until I read the logs. something very well may stand out.
Thanks for your help Wes. I really have only one question for you. do you
think this should work in theory?

do the 2 voicemail profiles use different pilot numbers and are they
different voicemail systems? what is the behavior of those voicemail
systems if they receive a request for a mailbox that does not exist?
Pls open a TAC SR, attach the ccm and SDL traces, and send me the case
number.

Thank you for replying Wes.
The CSSs are not an issue, I believe. Allow me to reword:
Two devices have Forward All - VoiceMail, both with unique VM Profiles. I
can call each device individually, and both will correctly route to the
specified VM DN.
I then take of CFA-VM, and do a regular forward from device 1 to device 2
(Voicemail checkbox unchecked, etc). The second device which is being
forwarded to has a CFA-VM that I just tested directly. yet the call doesn't
route to VM.
I'm admittedly not that strong at looking at the traces. Even knowing where
to start is helpful: I'll take a look.
Thanks,
Seth

Seth,
What voicemail profiles are configured on your devices? The calling search
space of those voice mail profiles are used to attempt to forward the call
to the voicemail pilot DN associated with the voicemail profile. If the CSS
of the voicemail profile does not include the partition of the pilot the
forward will return reorder.
If you would like to unicast me the SDI and SDL trace from callmanager I'd
be happy to take a look.

To all,
I'm trying to do a proof-of-concept with voicemail port forwarding, and I'm
having little luck. I'm not testing with unity; rather testing general call
routing using voicemail ports. To explain:
I can cause a call to the primary line on a SCCP device to forward to a
given voicemail port. (Forward All - VoiceMail checked on the line)
Specifically, the DN of the port I'm forwarding to is located on either SCCP
Device, CTI Route Point, or CTI Port. All three of these device types will
receive the forwarded call. However, if I try to do a second Forward All -
Voicemail on this new device with a second voicemail port, the call does not
route on. (Fast Busy)
I have also found that just doing a simple forward on the initial SCCP
device to the second SCCP or CTI device does not work either (with that
second device having a Forward All - Voicemail). As far as I can tell, the
port DN just isn't routing!
Also, I know the second device that has Forward All - Voicemail is
configured correctly in that I can call it directly, and it will route to
the port DN it has specified.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get that second device to forward to
Voicemail successfully? Maybe I've not configured something correctly.
Seth
