[cisco-voip] Combining Power Fail Port and FXS Port

Hi Lawrence,

Is there some place I can read about the power-fail port and it's specs
and function?

The FXS will continue to work properly so long as the REN for the port
is not exceeded. Basically this means the power-fail port would need a
very high imput impedance (on the order of MegaOhms). When you say
power-fail do you mean power to the router will be off as well so the
fxs port will not have power? if the fxs still has power via the
connected router, then when the power-fail shorts tip to ring, it will
likely receive dialtone from the fxs port.

/Wes
