[cisco-voip] Faxing recommendations

I have done a lot of the tuning already. Error Correction is turned
off. All Faxes have been hard set to fax at 14.4. VAD is turned off.
They have been working pretty well for a few months. Then it comes up
again out of the blue.

PRI's look fine. Not slips, etc. Think I will open a case with the
telco. I have seen a couple times in the last month were the PRI D
channel goes off line. But it didn't do that when we had reports of all
the faxing issues.

Maybe it's an IOS bug in my CMM blade 12.3.8xy. Looks like it's on the
deferred list now.

All Gatways and ata's are MGCP , SCCP.

Scott,

faxes again, huh ?

We also have 2 PRIs and some 50 faxes (multi-tenant environment), and
ATAs work fine.

We spent some time tuning them though; and we are in Europe, so my
settings might not work for you. But if you want to send your dial-peer
config and the ATA settings (AudioMode and ConnectMode, mostly), I can
have a look.

Of course, you should first of all check that there are no slips on the
PRIs.

Vincent

What would others suggest for Faxing? Currently I have 2 PRI's coming
in that support about ~500 users and ~12-15 Faxes. I really don't want
to buy POTS lines as that would be $400/ month added cost. I currently
have Xerox Fax/printers/scanners (set to 14.4k faxing). All are
currently connected to ATA186s but yesterday it sounds like that
started having issues again. What have people had good success with?
