[cisco-voip] Global Speed dials

so --- can someone educate me?

What are the options for a global speed dial 'catalog'

we have numerous numbers (for State agencies, etc) that many of our schools dial all the time.

Is a translation pattern the only way to do this?

I was hoping for a service on the phones that I could add to, such that it'd also be a lookup thing -- that way people could get a reference of common numbers for use with cell phones too --
Speed dials is part of it, but just the whole concept of a directory of common outside numbers too...

I actually spoke with some internal folks at Cisco about this. They estimated that about 3000 patterns like this would be possible before any noticeable slowdowns would occur.

I should add that this was two years ago, and pre 4.1/4.2/5.0 so things might have changed.
