[cisco-voip] 2851 and 12 T1s

It's a known issue, listed in the product data sheet for the
VIC2-2MFT-T1.  For voice only, you have to plan the clocking around the
motherboard design limitations. Not sure how in the future cisco could
get the DSPs on motherboard to have different clock sources. Maybe Texas
Instruments needs some re-work in their chips to support this.

The VWIC2's support different clocking sources for data T1's, but not
voice T1's. Seems like the problem would be more related to PRI's on the
same router from different CO switches. Has anyone seen this in
practice?

The only time you will get a clocking source problem is if you have
multiple T1s connecting to a router from different destination switches.

For example, you have a frame-relay T1 and a PRI... 

You have to identify to the router which WIC is going to be the master
clock. In which case you will see slips on the other T1. 

I do not believe there is any work-around. It is possible (though
unlikely) that there are some Cisco routers that can have multiple clock
sources...

	likely at a site that you can have connections to Local and Long

fine

	Any issue with terminating 12 T1s into a 2851? I have a mixture
of PRI
