[cisco-voip] SMDI

SMDI uses Serial Interface/COM port with Cisco Message Interface.

Google SMDI it's fairly standard but limited use due to serial limitations (distance, etc).

I would try and find integration method other than SMDI, eg QSIG or DP-7630 (Octel).

Can SMDI be passed over a T1 CAS or PRI to a legacy voicemail system? I noticed with CCM 4.1.3 there is are settings on the gateway config page for SMDI. Just curious if anyone has done this. I even noticed the setting on an MGCP FXS port??

Thanks,
