[cisco-voip] abbrdial - any documentation about it

Hi Scott,
thanks for your reply, i probably did not word my question in a way to
make it understandable. what i am interested in is the mechanism how the
IP phone techically accesses the softkey for fastdials, i.e. if a skinny
message is used or if a URL is invoked to access the configured user
settings.
the reason why i ask is that in the softkey templates i do not find a
fastdial key but on the phone it appears after dialing the first digit. so
the most likely way is that SCCP is used, i will trace that when i find
some time. my users want to have the possibility to use the fastdials
while transferring calls or for the configuration of call forward all. in
these situations the fastdial softkey does not show up an and i search for
a way to trick the phone to display the key. but as i do not always have
access to a testbed it will take some time to work that out.
thanks again for your answer, i'll keep the list updated on my findings.
regards
mat

Each user can go into https://CM/ccmuser and enter speed dials. The ones that don't show up on the phone are
Abbrdial numbers.
For instance?.. I enter a number on line 8. I dial 8 and the "abbrdial"
softkey and it dials.
Hope that helps.
Scott

hi,
does anybody have a technical document or an idea how cisco implemented
abbrdial in the phone load? i desperately want to allow my users to use
fastdials while transferring or entering call forward. i have read the
previous threads about it but have only seen the suggestion to start a
feature request with CIPTUG which seems to solve it.
any hints welcome
regards,
mat
