[cisco-voip] One DID >> several phones ring

Got it...

One other question..

I did this for our Maintenance department- --- They have 7912 phones
that don't support multiple numbers
but they DO want individual numbers on those phones..
hence the LG/HG/HP option..

Now, however, when I call 6196, and no one answers, it doesn't go to
their Call Handler to allow someone to select a particular users mailbox
to leave a message in (as it did in the past when 6196 appeared as 3rd
line on the two 7960 phones..)

How can I get their CH working again?

6196 needs to 'fall through' the HG and end up going over to Unity for
processing just like any other DID that fails to be handled on a
phone...

Under Route plan there is your route/Hunt.

There are three things you need to configure

First the Line Group - setup all the extension you want to ring and set
the algorithm to Broadcast

Then setup the Hunt list to include the LG you just setup

Then setup the Hunt Pilot with the DID and the HL you just setup.

Test

Done

so ... Hunt List with 6196 >> Hunt Group >> route plan >> Line
Group<extensions to call> ???

I'll look at this in the AM and ensure that I see all the steps needed..

thanks Scott!

Route plan --> Line Group

Make new one with the extensions and under distribution Algorithm -->
Broadcast

Then place in Hunt Group and then Hunt list with your 6196.

Hope that helps.

Scott

Hi --

silly question..

Can someone point me to Cisco's how-to on configuring one DID to ring
several phones

Once upon a time, I knew how to do this in 3.x, but it's been a long
time.

and...

we now run 4.01 -- and I think things are different.

I have tried reading whitepapers, etc -- and I think I have some
understanding... but not a 'steps to follow'

As an example--

I want 6196 to ring simultaneously on
6197
6198
2990
2991
2992
2991

whoever picks it up, gets the call.

Next call rings the same phones again..

Thanks, and sorry for asking for simple directions, instead of having
the time to do all the reading and figuring myself...

Tim
