When I have to swap out PIX 501s, I usually just ask the user for their
password. I'm using Active Directory as my RADIUS server for VPN
authentication, so I configure the VPNCLIENT lines on the PIX to be the
user's AD username and password.
By the way, copying and pasting from the old to the new PIX usually
works for me. I don't think you will have any problems.

I m setting up a remote site with 7971. we configure a 501 here at
home, but can not swap with 501 at remote site (smartnet stuff) I
understand that I could mess up the passwords on the pix501 if I don't
migrate the config correctly. I was told this by a tac engineer, but I
didn't understand exactly what passwords (telnet , cryto , logons etc)
can someone clear this up for me
