[cisco-voip] Fax Machines

If he had multiple pris with different clocking (T-Berd would show if
both spans have same clocking), wouldn't he be out of luck as the
motherboard DSPs can only have a single clock source in a ISR?
I've found if I set my clocking to internal on the other span it just
pushes the problem to the other end of the circuit (telco in this case)!
This is open discussion, I keep running into bad luck when the T1s have
different clocking (say a local T1 and a long distance T1 with different
providers in same router). Usually I make the data T1 have the slips
(which isn't good) so faxes/modems work -jason

Do you have multiple PRI's on a single gateway? If so, use something
like this example, notice the 2nd PRI has clock source internal (will
get clocking from the other controller:
network-clock-select 1 T1 0/3/0
controller T1 0/3/0
framing esf
linecode b8zs
pri-group timeslots 1-24
description Voice PRI to Sprint
!
controller T1 0/3/1
framing esf
clock source internal
linecode b8zs
pri-group timeslots 1-24
description Voice PRI to Sprint

Are you using ATAs or FXS ports on your gateway for the fax machines?
We've seen similar behavior on our fax machines when using ATAs, but
have had no problems since moving them to FXS ports on the gateways.
