They have VIC2FXS and VIC2FXO? The IOS I am running on this is the same one
I am running on the 1750 and they work in there so I think I am safe with
that.

Thanks for the help.

Curt,

This issue can most certainly be a dsp issue. But maybe other causes.

These cards need dsp's in order to function.

So you'll need to get some dsp's onto that router motherboard.

What version IOS? Are these Vic2 or just Vic?

Older Vic cards, pre Vic2 may not be recognized by the IOS.

For example, there is a Vic-2FXS and a Vic2-2FXS.

Can you be more specific as to the version of IOS and they type of cards you
are using as outlined above.

I just ran into this issue the other night at a client I was doing some work
for.

Check this link:

See if your cards are compatible.

The issue your describing can be caused by either or both.

Can you provide a show hardware and a show version output please?

Thanks,

Rich

I just got a Cisco 1760 for a lab. I have a dual FXO and a dual FXS that I
have been using with no issues in my 1750. When I put the modules in the
1760 they are not being recognized. There is a constant amber light on each
of them and if I do a show interfaces they do not show up. I have voice plus
IOS on it and there are two PVDM slots on the board but there are no chips.
I am assuming this is the issue. I am correct in this assumption or should
the routers notice them anyway?

Thanks

Curt
