[cisco-voip] cisco 2801 NVRAM and more problems

Little bit off the point but would like your opinion if you have time
later.
We rolled out a CCM at an HQ and 5 branches with phones registering
across a MPLS wan to the HQ, The remote sites use h323 gateways and
also have srst configured for when the wan fails. HQ is working fine.
The branches - we had or fair share of problems. Cisco 2801s. They all
have local PSTN links using isdn basic net 3 to the pstn. In each site
all devices use g711 and when they cross the wan they should use G729
according to the regions we configured.
Intitailly in the remote branches we had problems with calls where
they complained about one way voice for calls into the site to the
pstn. Clearing the BRIs helped but only for a short while. I then
changed the isdn config - was static TEI to no static TEI on the BRIs.
This together with two IOS upgrades helped and the branches now on
12-4-9T IP voice seems better (the problem free period lasted about 4
days). Today I received a call from one branch site where they claim
the one way voice issue from the branch locally to the pstn was
happening again. At the same time I was busy adding 1 line of config
to the running config on the voice gateway at that specific site to
exclude more DHCP IPs. When I tried writing the running config to
memory the router told me that it did not have enough NVRAM - which is
impossible because it is a very small config.
I am beginning to think the 2801s have a memory leak or something and
this can also have impact on the isdn and voice calls too. Tonight
after business hrs I reloaded the router (know it has valid bootable
image ). Could not get it back so I suspect it lost its startup
config.
Very worrying - running around now to try and get someone onsite. I
heard a couple of stories about the 28xxs
What is your experience ??
Here is the error message I got when trying to write to NVRAM -
startup config
rtrv-cust1-site-0005#wr mem
startup-config file open failed (Not enough space)

Thanks. I appreciate it. I'm working on it today so if I get it
working I will let you know.

I need to do something exactly like this but will only get to it in a
couple of days. If I do get something before the group comes up with
something I will share it

Does anyone have a good example config on how to set this up? I have
two onboard PVDM2 32 channel modules in my 2821. I want the local
router to hit the gateway first for MTP, Conference and Transcoding.
Then CCM 4.1.3. I have the Cisco procedure but I'm wondering if I
really need to configure everything they are suggesting. Looks like it
might require multiple dspfarm profiles for all the services I want to
provide.
Thanks,
Jason Wydra
