Bill---
You and everyone else on this list has complained about this at one
point or another..... At The Ciptug Conference at the open Mic I asked
the question. Every end user clapped and the Cisco panel was
speechless. :-)
Personally I have everything working with the MS Java except the IPCCx
real time monitoring. I Remote Console onto a different server for
that. It is a Pain.
What I was told is don't expect everything to work with one Java version
until at least CM 5.x or better. So not to hijack your thread, but is
anyone running CM 5.x? and what Java version does it use? What about
the IPCCx version? And what about Unity 4.1 or 4.2?
But with all that said................ Cisco, Wake UP and Fix the
Problem everyone is complaining about. No offence Wes, Kevin, and the
other Tac guys who are always so helpful.... the Buck stops with the
BU(s).

The incompatibilities between Java Runtimes needed for various Cisco
VoIP
components are killing me. I've been griping at a TAC guy for a few
days
now but I see that it is probably hopeless. All I'm probably doing is
frustrating him, too.
So what's a systems administrator to do? I have a system set up for
remote
admin and would like to use it for CallManager Administration, CCM
Realtime
Monitoring Tool, Unity Admin, and IPCC Express admin and Realtime
Reporting.
CCM Administration only seem to work with Microsoft Java. (Unity too.)
RTMT installs JRE 1.5.0-something and uses that.
IPCC Realtime Reporting INSISTS on JRE 1.3.1.
If I install all three of these, nothing works. They all see the other
runtimes and barf or complain. RTMT might work, actually, but what good
is
this if CCM Admin doesn't work!
Right now I'm down to having the MS Java runtime and JRE 1.5 installed,
coexisting nicely, with APPLET settings turned completely off for the
Sun
JRE so that the Microsoft one is invoked by IE for CCM Admin. And RTMT
works. But I see no way to get IPCC Realtime Reporting to work.
The TAC guy told me just to log into the consoles of each server to
administer. ha! I sent him back to the drawing board after that answer
but
I don't know that anything better will come back.
