[cisco-voip] masking analog fax number for 911 calls

When masking as a fax number one thing you have to keep in mind is what
911 call center the calls are going to. If your PRIs are in city "A" and
your branch site is in city "B", which is served by a different 911
center, you may have problems. The call will go through your PRIs and
the City "A" 911 center will get the address but it will be the WRONG
911 center. We always create a route pattern for each site to send 911
calls out through a local router with analog lines installed. This
ensures the call will get to the correct 911 center.
All you have to do to solve your problem is mask as a number that is
tied to the building your PRIs are housed in for that location. This is
controlled in the 9.911 Route Pattern for the Partition/ CSS at that
location.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [cisco-voip] masking analog fax number for 911 calls
Hi,
We have switched over to VOIP. We are trying to find out how to mask
the analog fax lines we kept for emergency calls when VOIP is down. If
we dial 911 from any building, except for the building housing the PRI
circuit, the 911 operator sees the analog fax line as a call back
number. Has anyone figured out how to avoid this? We would like the
displayed number to be the building's published number. We have tried
filling in a number in the calling party transform mask field on the
route list detail configuration screen - this did not appear to make a
difference.
Two points - when a 911 call is made at a remote site it goes directly
out the fxo/analog fax line setup. If the fax is busy it is suppose to
come back through the T1 and out the PRI to 911.
We appreciate any thoughts, Teresa
