[cisco-voip] voip and 911

Thanks for your responses to our other voip/analog masking question -
since we are unable to mask the analog numbers, here is our next hurdle.
Again, we have moved to voip phones on our network. We have 9
buildings. We kept at least one analog line in each building for times
when the network phones might be down. The analog line has a fax
machine and an analog phone on it. When a 911 call is made from any of
the 8 buildings not housing the PRI line, the call from any voip phone
goes directly out the analog line. 911 only sees the fax line as a call
back number. The Intrado's PS/ALI database can not be interfaced with
the analog numbers, therefore none of the DID's location/call back
information can be displayed to the 911 operator. How have others
gotten around this situation. 911 Administrators say this is not an
ideal.
Intrado suggested we see if the 911 had a local database for cross
referencing numbers in special situations. Answer was no.
Thanks for your thoughts, Teresa
