If you have the older Cisco phones and an af power switch that provides
power on the non-data pairs, it should work if you can set the power to
always on. I use the power injectors for Aironet 1200 Access points
with my 7940/60 phones. The power injector is an always on, non-data
pair POE source. Some of the newer phones support af and Cisco
proprietary POE.

For CME you should get the additional files for CME that match you IOS
version from CCO. I believe this includes a tar file with the GUI
application, phone loads, and music on hold file. Phone related
configuration you can do from a GUI at http://<router IP
Address>/ccme.html . External calling is setup with pots dial peers like
any other H323 gateway. I can send you a sanitized config file it you
want. Here is some of the beginning configs to get you started.

1. If I have a NON-POE Cisco IP phone, is there a RJ45 cable that can
deliver POE by switching the pins? Where can you buy such a cable?

2. CME - anyone have a basic 'how-to' for CME? I have never installed
and
setup a CME router but I have a 2811 to play with, any suggestions?

thanks,
JD
