I don't know about the IBM's but there is a three part deal with the HP's. delete<f1>, configure<f2>, and OS<f3>.

the first time you press the f1 then it reboots, then let it boot again on the same CD and press f2, let it reboot on the same CD and then press f3.

If it's hanging and not booting I had a problem where I had to go into the firmware and delete the config then it worked.

  Hope that helps

  Scott

Subject: [cisco-voip] CCM MCS-7815-I1-CC2/Ipc3

I have a cisco call manager Cisco MCS 7800
  (MCS-i1-CC2/IPC3)
  First installation.
I inserted the first CD of the Cisco ip Telephony serever package.
  Labled:
  "Cisco Ip Telephony Serever Package"
  " OS version 2000.2.7a "
  "80-7974-02"
  "CD Disk1"
  " Hardware Detection "
The MCS boots ok and detects the cd. The wizard starts with the Logo of Cisco. A warning message in the wizard is displayed" configuration process" that any config on the system will be removed and since its a first install i pressed next button. Then "preparing base image" in blue is displayed.
The system then reboots and nothing is displayed at all on the monitor.i waited but got no response on the display. please help me out on this case.
