Dito,
I had an install were the customer would press a button, it would call a
certain phone (normally the operator) and they would talk about as to
who the outside person was and whatever. Then the operator would dial a
code, without hanging up on the outside use, and this code would signal
the gate opener to do its thing. This setup is way easier than I first
thought. Just a PLAR config on the FXS port to the desired destination.
I made it ring up a line group where it would ring a couple of people as
so the person outside would get better response than before. It works
perfectly.
Now I can't remember the model exactly, but it was an older AT&T gate
opener deal. It doesn't really matter as long as it has connectivity via
FXS.

another thought think of an Analog phone link-- Use an FXS port and a
PLAR connection to a number...
I have this at a customer location.. But the gate is so far away they
are using a Bell Analog line and the device calls a set # that rings a
number that comes up on all phones.
The users Press 5 to open the gate when they pickup...
I can't find the name right now... But I'll unicast it when I do...

Does anyone have a recommendation for an outdoor intercom and door latch
that can be triggered through an ip phone/gateway setup.
