[cisco-voip] NM-HDV with SIMMS

Hi Stu,

I am sure that is the cause. Install a VWIC-2MFT-T1 and all 4 x PVDM-12's
should show up when you do a sh diag. Or if you just want to make sure they
are PVDM-12's, you could just put the VWIC-2MFT-E1 from the other NM into it
for a quick test to see if they are PVDM-12's. But yes, if you want to
actually use the NM-HDV-48, you will have to purchase or get your hands on a
VWIC and install it into the NM.

The NM-HDVs with 4 SIMMS actually had a VWIC-1MFT-T1 installed in it, but we
moved the VWIC-1MFT-T1 to a 2811. With this information, what do we need to
do to make the 4 PVDM-12s appear in a 'sh diag' or will they only show up if
there is VWIC installed with it?

Hi Stu,

Normally, they are PVDM-12's. What does it say exactly when you do the sh
diag? With 5 PVDM's, it must mean you have a NM-HDV-2E1-60 card, with 4,
you might have a NM-HDV-2T1-48. It could be PVDM-4, 8, or something else.

Also, there might be a possibility that the NM-HDV is not functioning
properly. Just a guess. Does the NM have a VWIC-2MFT-T1 installed in it as
well? The PVDM's might not show up if you don't have the VWIC in it.

You could try taking out the 5 x PVDM-12's out of the one that recognizes
the PVDM-12's, and putting the 4 SIMMs into it and see if they are
recognized as PVDM-12's

I have a few NM-HDVs with different SIMM configurations. One set has 5
SIMMS and the 'sh diag' says they are PVDM-12 SIMMs. The other set has 4
SIMMS, but the 'sh diag' does not show the PVDM-12s. Could the 4 SIMMs on
the NM-HDV be something different than the PVDM-12s? I went to the link
below, but could not gather the info I needed. So, are these PVDM-12s or
another part?
