[cisco-voip] Unity UM with Lotus: MWI not refreshingautomatically

Very tricky with Lotus integrations (or so I've found).

The most important thing to find out is whether or not the Domino server is sending the notification to Unity about the new message. On the Unity server, locate the tool called MonitorTest.exe and run it. This will display any notifications from Domino to Unity that affect MWI status. If you don't see anything appear, the DUCS component may not be correctly installed on the Domino server. Also there is some instruction about making sure the DUCS component is the first plugin listed in notes.ini.

There are also a few other situations that can lead to MWI issues. DUCS caching comes to mind as another one, but I don't think that's on by default in DUCS 1.2.3.

It probably is best if you open a TAC case on this.

Good luck,
Ryan

Hi Erick,

I have tried what you have suggested. I have left a message to one extension. Then, the light of this extension is light off and the Subscriber MWI says also OFF. When I click Refresh, then the MWI is lighted on and the Unity displays ON.

As for your explanation, I assume the unity is not getting the new mail notification message from the mailstore. How can I troubleshoot this?

How can I check the TSP version I'm running? I haven't installed it manually, is it automatically installed by the application?

Thanks in advance,

Ruben

Does the Unity subscriber message page say the Indicator is ON when the light on the phone is not lit? This would indicate that unity is getting the new mail notification from the mailstore , but having an issue with the communication/call to call manager to light up the phone ocassionally. Do you have enough ports for dialout MWI , a reserved port for dialout MWI may be needed if the system is busy and is unable to process MWI dialouts at times perhaps.

If it saids the indicator is off on the unity subscriber message page, when the problem is happening, and refreshing changes the indicator status to On on this page then unity is not getting the new mail notification message from the mailstore and there is an issue in that part of the communication at times.

What version Unity TSP are you running? There have been some TSP issues that can cause port lockups, etc. I would also update to the current TSP if it isn't on the current one.

Hi,

my customer has CCM4.1(3) with Unity 4.2 Unified Messaging with Lotus R6. Integration works properly except one thing: the MWI doesn't synchronize automatically between CCM and Unity.

Only when I do a 'Refresh' in the Subscriber configuration profile for the MWI, the MWI is light on or off in the subscriber's phone.

Any idea what could be going on?

Thanks in advance,

Ruben
