[cisco-voip] What dows max-conn exactly do under a pots dial-peer?

Hi all,
i have found the syntax for this command but i cannot find exactly the 
maximum number of that command is?
So, suppose you have a E1 controller with 30 voice channels available.
if you use the max-conn 20 under the dial-peer pots means that no more 
than 20 calls can be achieved by that router?
