[cisco-voip] Cisco 3524XL as a Voice access switch

3500XL-24PS doesn't have the switchport macro auto qos voip cisco-phone;
you would have to add QoS manually.

You setup switchport mode trunk, switchport trunk encap dot1q, and
switchport voice vlan x. Allowing automatic voice vlan configuration to
be passed via CDP to phone.

The Configuration Guide for the 3500XL is well documented, still a great
switch in my mind.....

There's a perfectly good one floating about on the Cisco website in the
documentation
section for the 3500-XL IOS.

In a nutshell:

* no, I don't think they do Auto-QoS, but
* all the basics are in the documentation, and
* they don't do "voice" vlan negotiation like later switches; its set
statically.

Place to start:

tion_guide_chapter09186a00800d9d3d.html#xtocid28

If all you're doing is voice then the configuration shouldn't be that
hard.
It might get a bit less fun if you're doing anything terribly
complicated.
