Here is a recommendation I am a fan of:
Split the subnet in half, use two IP helper addresses, one half goes on one
server, the other half goes on the other.
We have done this with /25, /24 /23
Works like a champ.
Never played with the alternate TFTP, I am interested to see how this works
as well...
