[cisco-voip] Inconsistent behavior on phone services between 7960and 7961

We had some interestingly results when programming a directory application for our 7912. We tried to copy over the directory we created on the 7960 but found exactly what you found, that the XML parser on the phones did not operate the same way. We had to reprogram the 7912 directory app to 'fool' it into working. Or something like that. And by 'we' I mean our superduper developer (what would we do without them?).

I've cc'ed him on the offchance he can add something to this. I believe he opened a case and got some answers, but not the one's we were looking for.

I'm was dissappointed that things didn't work on the 7912, but I'm astonished that they are not working on the 7961.

Found an annoying inconsistency today. Maybe someone here could explain
  why this is happening...

I have a phone service that's basically just a simple CGI on the web
server. Takes input, responds with CiscoIPPhoneText data. The
CiscoIPPhoneText XML object also has an Exit softkey defined (Softkey:Exit).

On the 7960, the Exit softkey backs the user out to the services menu
(correct behavior). On the 7961, though, the Exit softkey returns the
user back to the input page (incorrect). According to the "Developing
Cisco IP Phone Services" book this is what the Cancel softkey (NOT Exit)
is supposed to do--return to the previous page.

In other words it seems to work as documented on the 7960, and
incorrectly (bug?) on the 7961... unless I'm missing something.

  Bill
