It seems like you should be considering an upgrade to 4.1/4.2 instead of
5+. Is there a specific feature you require in your voice environment
that is only available in 5+?

Well, that is the question isn't it.
Will the scripts from IPCC 3.1 be able to be converted by UCCX 4.5 or
will I have to rewrite it from scratch?
Will the agent's skills, stored in DC Directory, migrate to UCCX 4.5, or
will I have to recreate them?
I have no problem with a full, clean install (in fact, in many cases, I
prefer it, to clean out all the crap that gets dumped there...)...but
seriously guys, this is bordering on nuts.
I will keep looking, there is no upgrade doc per se for 4.5 (nothing
that tells you what challenges (read: instant death) you will face for
the migration...)

I agree, but in the same token, you can install the OS and IPCCx
software pretty quickly and then use the same Scripts / prompts / etc I
would guess it's going to be a few hours.

PS. Thanks for doing all this research as I'm going to be doing this in
just a couple months. ;-)

I don't believe I just read this:
"CRS 4.5(2) in the Cisco Unified Communications contact center
environment can only be handled as a "fresh" installation; upgrading
from the previous CRS system is not supported. You cannot upgrade to CRS
4.5(2) from CRS Releases 3.1, 3.5 or 4.0; only a fresh install of CRS
4.5(2) is supported."

_prep.htm
Is Cisco out of its mind? Are they high?
They want all of these customers to upgrade to CCM 5, but they offer no
upgrade path for IPCC?
This CANNOT be accurate.

That's ridiculous.
Why would have them install a separate CCM cluster for a call
center with 15 agents?

I think others have done this with great success (separate
cluster
for IPCC).

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm seriously considering that
IPCC
users be put on a seperate cluster. Upgrade the cluster only
when
necessary. When we last talked to our Cisco team there seemed to
be
no light at the end of the tunnel with respect to concurrent
support
for previous versions of IPCC.

Curious...
I know I need to upgrade them to CCM4.1 before I can go to 5.1..
Do I need to go to IPCC 4.0 before 4.5, or can I go straight
from
CRS3.1 to 4.5?
And is it really an upgrade or is it some disaster-fest, where I
need
to rebuild the IPCC applications.
