[cisco-voip] Caller ID Passing Through Internal Helpdesk to OutsideHelpdesk

Steve,

You would need to allow an alternate call routing mechanism (route
pattern possibly) that does not overwrite the calling party number
with your company's main telephone number. I know of at least 4 ways
to overwrite the calling party number on outbound calls:
1. callerid field under gateway configuration
2. calling party transforms on the route pattern page
3. CM service parameter that specifies generic company number
4. translation rules on h323 gateways.

Figure out what method you are using to set the generic number, then
design an alternate call flow.

OutsideHelpdesk

We have a backup call center (Intelliteach) to which all helpdesk
calls are forwarded when our internal queue is busy or closed. We
need to allow Intelliteach to see the individual DID rather than our
company's main number which is the default for all calls going
outside the building. We have created a new route pattern for our
internal helpdesk extension and also one for calls going to the toll-
free number that is programmed in the helpdesk route point for
forwarding/busy. We have proven this works with other numbers, but
not with calls that go through our helpdesk queue. Any ideas about
other parameters that need to be changed? Thank you!

Exactly.

My users are as sharp as ping pong balls, I don't expect them to be
hacking DC Directory.

I do expect them to think it would be cool to open IE and go off and
play with CCM...

I just want to change the web password (for administrator) and the
console login (for RD)...

That way, there will be an appearance of security.

Well even if you could change it you'd still have to restart the

You can't change the Directory Manager password on IPCC 4.0... it is
grayed out.

My guess is you have to delete the LDAP profile and create a new
one... this kills the system for a time... which is not an option.

That's fine.

My big thing is the password is currently cisco and I need to hand
this off to the customer, I don't want them left with that password
(look, it is really easy to type cisco as opposed to some nightmare
like F8!#jjoo at b7WehH~t every time...)

I just need to change the local console and the web page, we can
change the service accounts later (they want an upgrade to 5.1 at the
end of the summer, I figure we can do it then).

But when I ran the ccmpwdchanger I killed the call center and
extension mobility... so, I backed out (really quickly)...

Not a problem. Nothing service related uses the local administrator
or the CCMAdministrator account. Biggest issue you'll have is that
IIS will cache the old password so it will still work for a while
along with the new one. You can restart IIS to clear it but that
will impact EM while it's down.

I need to change the CCMAdministrator and the local administrator
passwords on CallManager 4.1 without changing any of the service
passwords or the DC Directory password.

The key thing here is I need to do this during production (we do not
have a maintenance window) without upsetting our call center (UCCx 4.0
(4) or Extension Mobility)...

How?
