[cisco-voip] CME vs CM

Scott, don't think of CME as a subset of CM it is, in fact, a different product who's features' intersect with CM. If you want to know what features you have, you can read the docs here . If the chance is high you can bring them into your centralized deployment, you run the risk of removing features if you have deployed them on CME. I know that wouldn't fly well over here so we waited until a central deployment with SRST was possible.

OK.. To make it a little more direct.

I know it runs on the Router like SRST and I know it's for smaller installs. I have only dealt with CM but I have a site that would like a 50 phone install and was wondering what I lost with CME over CM.

CME runs on IOS and has a different web interface. Phones register to the router in a way similar to the way they would in SRST, with ephone-dns and ephone assignments. Its basically an SRST router on steroids.

I know it's been asked but I can't find it.

What's the difference between CME and CM?

  Thanks

  Scott
