[cisco-voip] DST and CMLOCAL group

Does anyone know how to set up a newer gen SCCP phone for NTP? I'm guessing there is a way since the phoneloads were updated for DST fixes.

CCMADMIN has specific settings to assign a NTP to the newer phones when they are using SIP fw. I'm not sure if they use NTP when running SCCP.

The time/date update is totally dependant on the phone. It has
always been the case that the phone requests the time from CM at the
end of a call. In later loads the phones also request the time once

per day from CM and this time request is spread around. Before this
change you could have a phone that didn't make any calls for a while
and the time could get off by a good bit due to natural clock
drift. This only applies to the "older" phones (7940, 60, etc) as

the newer phones will talk directly to an NTP server (these phones
were the ones affected by the DST changes).

Yea, the time updates on phone are wonky at times. Sometimes they

take after a call, sometimes it takes a few hours, to quite a few
hours, sometimes need to reset phone, etc. Ryan R had mentioned in
earlier post that the phone gets the time updated when a call is hung
up, but I have seen that not work sometimes also.

in the lab the phones set to CMLOCAL did not change on a 3.33
setup. If we turned off the dst adjustment and then changed the
time, we sometimes got the update.
