[cisco-voip] Installing the Executable ciscocm.4-1-DevPack-38.1 on Call Manager (Is There a Forced Reboot?)

I would like to install this during the day, but I can't afford a reboot on the Pub. The documentation says that the machine doesn't "need to be rebooted", but does it ever reboot on its own? Please advise. Thank you!

Hi,

from my recent experience, whenever you do an upgrade from 4.x to 5.x, you have to ask Cisco for a License. As you know, CCM5.x is based in licenses, so when you do the upgrade you should take a temporal license that is created during the upgrade that makes it all work correctly, but if you want to add a device you can't: you should buy a license upgrade based in units from Cisco...

Regards,

Ruben

Asunto: [cisco-voip] Cannot add phone to CCM 5.1(1)

Hi,
i am very new at 5.1 and i have found some difficulties adding a new phone:
I have installed a new 5.1 installation and imported a tar file from an old 4.1 installation.
The system booted and all the settings (phones, users etc) seem to be imported OK)
Then o tried to add a new 7960 phone but after i have given the MAC address all the rest necessary fields i clicked
add and i got:

Status
Update failed. [4917] License file not loaded

I know it has something to do with the Phone Secutiry Profiles but that is as far as i get.

Any ideas?

Thanks A lot
