It is More common to allocate separate subnets - even separate vlans
per area for very large buildings for IPt users.
It is also a good idea to have a separate server vlan/s for IPt
servers like ccm, unity etc to create a nice trust boundary to make
the IPt servers more secure
Cisco has docs explaining the pros and cons and ways to use exuisting
addresses if one has to - think it is in the SRND for IP t

Subject: Re: [cisco-voip] IP Addressing Scheme for IPT
Hello all,
We currently allocate subnets/IP addresses for voice VLANs from the
same 10.0.0.0 network as we allocate subnets for data VLANS. Is this a
common practice or is it more common to use a separate private address
space such as the 192 or 172 networks for voice VLANS and if so why?
Thanks!,
