Ah, that makes sense and jives with the tftp trace file. The
alternate tftp server is not in the dmz and no plans to do that so I'm
going to try Ed Leatherman's suggestion first, and try Matt Saskin's or
Justin Steinberg's if that doesn't work. Thanks all.
